National Park Northern Velebit is characteristic for its richness of rocky shapes and its variety of plant and animal life. True jewels of this national park are the strict reserves Hajdučki and Rožanski kukovi, botanic reserves „Visibaba“ and Zavižan-Balinovac-Zavižanska kosa and  Lukina jama.

Over 30 pathways connect the park, Premužićeva Staza being the most famous one of them. From the mountain summits you can enjoy the views of the sea and the nearby islands, and well as the view of the forested Lika. Within the park there are public and forest roads ideal for bicycles. Accommodations can be found in the mountain lodgings in Zaviždan and Alan, and in the general area as well.
