Plitvice Lakes, the biggest and oldest Croatian national park, definitely deserves a spot on the list of natural sites you must visit in Croatia. The lakes are situated between the mountains Mala Kapela and Plješevica. This area is characterized by lush forests and mountain landscapes which are adorned by sixteen lakes and ponds of crystal green color, all connected by cascades and waterfalls

You can enjoy its beauties, the mountain air, a wealth of flora and fauna all year long, however, you should make sure to get information on park tours since they are weather conditioned. Most of the content offered is available during the period from middle of April to the end of October when all three entrances to the park are open. During that period you can enjoy rides on the panorama train and the electric ship on Lake Kozjak. Upon your arrival there, you are offered a half-day or all-day program, and the price of entrance fees differs across user categories and date of arrival.

You can find accommodation in numerous apartments and private rooms in family houses, as well as in a hotel and mountain homes where your stay will be made that much more pleasant by the hosts’ kindness and courtesy. Come and spend an unforgettable vacation in Plitvice Lakes national park.
